Chiropractic Massage is how we're looking at the two forms of treatment together.  Massage therapy and Chiropractic are individually powerful forms of health care, but the two together create a whole that is even greater than the sum of those parts.

Massage Therapy and Chiropractic share a common goal: to treat the whole person rather than their symptoms through natural, hands on, drug-free techniques. These therapies are both preventative and restorative - working to resolve the cause of rather than just treating isolated symptoms.

Chiropractic and massage therapy work well together because chiropractic adjustments deal with the spine and massage therapy deals with the soft tissue. By releasing muscular tension that might otherwise pull your joints back out of alignment again, massage helps your chiropractic adjustments last longer.

Chiropractic care supports massage because the adjustments relax deep layers of soft tissue that are difficult to access with massage, and also because bones that are out of alignment cause muscle spasms.

Massage Therapy has numerous benefits:

  • Increases relaxation, decreases stress and reduces depression and anxiety.
  • Improves energy, circulation and mood
  • Reduces spasms, muscle cramping and pain
  • Increases range of motion
  • Enhances sleep quality and lowers blood pressure
  • Promotes tissue regeneration, reduces scar tissue and stretch marks.

Our Massage Therapists may combine the following techniques in their sessions:

  • Swedish (promotes relaxation and general well-being)
  • Deep Tissue, Clinical and Treatment Massage
  • Prenatal Massage
  • Myofascial Release
  • Craniosacral Therapy

While massage can feel luxurious and like a treat, it is also a valuable element in your personal wellness regime. The many benefits of massage can facilitate healthy growth in your life on many levels.

Cranio Sacral Therapy:

Craniosacral therapy uses light touch with micro-movements, primarily to the bones of the head and pelvis, and the space between the spine and the head, to calm the nervous system and stimulate the body's healing energy, said to reside in the fluid that bathes the brain and spinal fluid. It also uses gentle techniques to unwind twists in the three diaphragms of the torso. It is an extremely effective adjunct to chiropractic work, especially for people with headaches, TMJ dysfunction, or recent whiplash. Making an analogy between the spine and a whip, if you hold one end, the wave sent from the other end cannot pass; instead, it snaps back at you. When craniosacral therapy helps free restrictions in the head, the spine can, like a whip, move more freely and thus respond more easily to chiropractic work.  Cranio Sacral Therapy is a unique approach of Chiropractic Massage that addresses some of the deepest ways we store tension.
